I’ve been experiencing problems with a few of my apps. The most annoying has been the Wordpress app, which is what I use to blog when I’m not near a computer. Local drafts keep getting lost, and I’ve resorted to typing out my posts in TextEdit and having to copy/paste them once I’m done.
Apparently, Apple has a serious back log of apps and app upgrades that they need to approve and since the release of the 3.0 update I’m sure it’s gotten much worse.
Apple should seriously re-consider their current process for App Store approvals. The iPhone is a huge revenue generator for Apple, and with the 3GS blowing the old hardware to bits, people are demanding better apps. How long are we going to have to wait for new apps that really put the 3GS software to the test? How long are we going to have to wait for simple updates to be approved?
Personally, my patience is growing pretty thin. My iPhone 3G was jailbroken and it allowed me the freedom to find apps and install them whenever I wanted, for free. I appreciate the fact that Apple does a much better job in terms of quality and stability of apps found in the App Store, but my patience is wearing thin.
The DevTeam is pretty close to releasing the Jailbreak for the 3GS and although I decided I wasn’t going to jailbreak this one, I may have to unless Apple picks up the pace.
