Comment posted on OS X Snow Leopard vs Leopard on a Macbook Pro. Disappointment by chrisaceto

I've had some more time to really test Snow Leopard since the install and I can say with certainty, it is noticeably faster than Leopard. Startup and shutdown are much quicker, opening applications is quicker, connecting to my network and working off of network drives also seems much quicker.

For $35, it's been well worth the price at the very least.

  • My XBench score has not improved at all. The only increase in performance that can be seen via Xbench is when booting my Macbook Pro in 64 bit mode.

  • Actually I did test it right after. It's been off for about 5 hours, I'm going to run it again. Maybe Xbench doesn't support 64 bit? Can someone verify?

  • Bell Entertainment Service… Finished Before it Starts?
Don't get me wrong.. The service is GREAT when it works.. My internet is always working, it's the IPTV component that freezes and goes down.

Rebecca, nice chatting with you today. Im not sure why Bell would say they aren't offering it anymore. As far as I know they are slating a full rollout very soon. I will see if I can get some more info for you.

Hi John! I’m glad that you agree. Being the creator of Mirror Free, you’re obviously an opportunist who has noticed that simple apps are dominating the downloads when it comes to the iPhone. Congrats on your success!
  • Apple isn’t selling what you’re buying!!
Correct. I believe it was actually 1999 or 2000 when I picked up my G4.
  • UPDATED: iPhone 3GS Battery Life vs iPhone 3G
I’m curious. Do any of you have Bluetooth or WiFi on during the day? I rarely use either and I find the battery life to be better than my 3G. I have noticed that with WiFi browsing and or prolonged time connected to my headset the battery life does decrease faster, but it’s not worse than the 3G, IMO. Without wifi or bt I thinks it’s much more efficient.
