Foxconn employee committs suicide, iPhone Prototype

A few weeks ago an iPhone prototype was found at an airport and eventually found it’s way onto eBay. Coincidentally, a 25 year-old employee at Foxconn, a manufacturer for Apple, committed suicide, supposedly, after discovering that one of the sixteen iPhone prototypes in his care was missing.

Apple issued a statement saying that they are “saddened by the tragic loss of this young employee, and we are awaiting results of the investigations into his death. We require our suppliers to treat all workers with dignity and respect.”

Apparently the man’s home was broken into by fellow employees and he was also subjected to harassment and physical abuse. These are rumors, at the moment. An investigation is being held to determine the circumstances surrounding the young mans death.
